Float Like A Butterfly
This past weekend the world lost one of it's greatest – Muhammad Ali. He was an inspiring man full of strength and determination and had a way with words.
Words. We tend to underestimate the power that teeny tiny marks on a piece of paper can have on us. Isn’t it fascinating how certain words can spark such emotion? After hearing of Muhammad’s passing I, of course, relied on Google to shower me in all the details. As I began to typed ‘Muhamm…’ a top search caught my eye – 21 Of Muhammad Ali’s Best Quotes. Before I could gauge if I had any interest in reading his words my fingers clicked the link.
Side note: I am a quote person, always have been. I am completely guilty of having motivational quotes sent to my phone every morning at 6AM. My best friend, Jesse, to this day still rolls her eyes at me for having “Live, Laugh, Love” splattered across my college dorm.
Now, back to the good stuff. There was one quote in particular that jumped off the page to me that I want to share with you.
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
Impossible. Gosh. If I had a dollar for every time my 26 year-old self has felt the burden of that 10 letter word I would be in the middle of the Caribbean on my private yacht.
I believe Muhammad's words are captivating and have the ability to light a spark in all of us. As we start a new week know that the notion of impossible is a dare and you have the power to write your truth.
