No THC, Just TLC

No THC, Just TLC

If you’re like me, you quickly find yourself overwhelmed with the different brands of CBD products and how to use it and where and why and how and holy moly …. INFORMATION OVERLOAD !

For the past few months I’ve been using CBD products from BEAM and Lord bless, I wish I started using them sooner. I have been feeling at my best both mentally and physically and want to pass along all the necessary information for you to feel the same. The below may feel like a lot to digest so let’s take it step by step and break it all down.

WHAT IS CBD AND WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

CBD is an acronym that stands for cannabidio which is a phytocannabinoid that was discovered in 1940. CBD is a natural compound that, unlike THC, is non-psychoactive. This means that CBD can be used without experiencing any of the mental effects commonly associated with cannabis. In latent terms, you will not get high off of the oil and lose yourself in a bag of Cheetos after the use of CBD products. On the contrary, CBD interacts with the human body’s endocannabinoid system to alleviate different symptoms and can help balance your body’s overall wellness and health. The endocannabinoid system helps to regulate the immune system, the nervous system, and your mood. Basically, the endocannabidnoid system is the real deal and is deeply involved in regulating human health in more ways than we are even able to understand! I’ve been binge watching Grey’s Anatomy so all these high tech medical terms make me feel like I’d fit right in at Grey Sloan Memorial.

Ok, back to the topic …

So, where exactly does CBD come from?
CBD is an oil that is extracted from either a hemp or marijuana plant.

CBD from hemp:
- contains a higher ratio of CBD to THC
-      Legal in all 50 states
-      Typically grown outdoors
-      CBD hemp products have become more mainstream

CBD from marijuana:
-      Higher levels of THC
-      Typically grown indoors
-      It is not legal in all 50 states and may require a prescription
-      CBD and THC level and quality can vary

CBD tends to have a taboo rep but once you have all the insightful information it seems a whole lot less scary so let’s keep the conversation flowing.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD AND IS IT SAFE?

There is a lengthy spiel that I can give you but in latent terms, CBD can provide relief for chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, acne, heart disease, plus other conditions. There are countless studies that show how that CBD has help to reduce chronic pain or how it has the ability to regulate mood and social behavior. For me, personally, I was benefit from CBD oil for its ability to reduce anxiety and helpfulness in improving sleep quality.

Since I am NOT A CERTIFIED DOCTOR so don’t go running to your physician, saying “well, the millennial miss said so!”  I feel obligated to do my due diligence and say that if you are currently taking any medications please consult with your doctor before taking any CBD products. Please also do your part and research the CBD products that you purchase to monitor the level of THC.

Even in high doses, CBD is non-toxic for humans. Again, CBD does not produce the psychoactive effects and will not leave you with the feeling of “getting high.” Most CBD products that are sold contain a low enough level of THC that should not affect your body or mind.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN SHOPPPING FOR CBD PRODUCT

You know that feeling when you walk into Forever21 and there are 100s of racks full of different patterns, textures and sizes? INSTANT PANIC ! Well, that’s how I felt when it came to deciding which brand of CBD products to purchase. Here are a few things to look before adding CBD products to your shopping cart:

1.     Pay attention to the amount of CBD in the mixture, not the size of the bottle.

2.     Make sure you are getting a pure CBD product.

3.      Consider whether you want hemp flower or a CBD-only product.

4.     Make sure you buy from a reputable source.

WHAT BRAND DO I RECOMMEND?

As I told you earlier, I have been using CBD products from BEAM for the past few months and I wish I was introduced to their line earlier! To be honest, their tagline is what first drew me in. I’m a marketing nerd – what can I say !!

“No THC, just TLC”

Genius.

Beam products are truly THC free and since you’re a CBD product guru now, you know that that means it’s 100% non- psychoactive. Their CBD oil is organic pharmaceutical- grade and is of the highest purity – with no binders, dys, excipients, or unknown substances.

The one” is dubbed to be their most popular product and for good reason. I put a drop of the oil into my coffee or tea in the morning as it helps to improve focus, ease anxiety and fight inflammation. Sounds like exactly the lineup I need to kick the days ass! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I am forever on the go and always keep snacks in my bag for the extra busy days. A perfect grab and go is the BEAM powdered protein bar for a quick post workout recovery bite. For full ingredient facts click here.

Beam also offers a cream, “the fixer”, that helps to relax and restore with 100% organic CBD oil, lavender and eucalyptus. Even typing those words makes me feel more relaxed, HA! The best part about the multi-purpose salve is that you can massage a small amount throughout the day to the wherever needs a little extra TLC.
