It's A Bad Day Not A Bad Life

It's A Bad Day Not A Bad Life

Lately, life seems to be going a million miles an hour. Between major moments, the normal day to day routine and everything in between, feeling overwhelmed is a new felt emotion. The other morning, I rolled over in bed and before I even opened my tired eyes I had that pinging feeling that today was going to be one of those day. One of those days where nothing would go right and I would probably smile a little less than normal.  Now, before anyone jumps through the computer screaming “happiness is a choice” know that I too believe in that mindset but more so I believe in the power of realizing that it it’s ok to have an ‘off’ day. In fact, not only is it ok – you’re allowed to have a bad day. You are warranted to have a bad day.

We have to stop viewing "taking a break" as a negative movement and realize that maybe some days we aren’t meant to be pushed. That some days maybe our mind and body are simply begging for a mental health day. It’s a norm of our generation to constantly be on the move and not taking the time to step back and realize what our subconscious has been manifesting while we're running to the next work meeting and simultaneously scrolling through Instagram.

Don’t beat yourself up. Seriously, stop that sh!t. Not only is it a waste of time but it’s unwarranted. Love yourself. Be your own best friend. Learn to cheer yourself on no matter the task. Why are you being so hard on yourself? Why? You work damn hard to balance every tier of life you deserve a moment of silence to yourself. Nothing positive comes from overload. Grab a book, go for a walk, learn to meditate – whatever gives your mind a sufficient break, do that. If you’re in need of ideas on how to destress here’s a list of 10 easy ways to do so.

The most significate relationship you will have is with yourself. I challenge you to do something this week that will give your mind, body and soul a nice break.

Take a breather,
Chels
