A girls getaway: Martha's Vineyard

A girls getaway: Martha's Vineyard

Last week, my girlfriend Ashley, the cutie behind A Styled Affair, and I (over)packed our bags and hopped a ferry to enjoy a quick girls trip. Neither of us had been to Martha’s Vineyard before so our mutual excitement instantly filled the air with good vibes! Before we even received our room key, we were head over wedges in love with the Summercamp Hotel property. The décor, the staff and the location made it a getaway dream. I’m not sure if I was more obsessed with the hanging swings in the lobby or the fact that there was a whole “canteen” stocked with snacks and an adorable self-serve coffee bar. YES PLEASE, to all of it!

After getting situated in our adorable room and spending too much time deciding which outfit to wear, we ventured off to Vineyard Haven to enjoy a little breakfast and game plan the day ahead. With both our minds flipped to vacation mode, we were in much more of a go with the flow mindset as opposed to following a strict itinerary. SIDE NOTE: a huge shout out to you guys, our followers, for flooding us with recommendations! We wish we had more time to check them all off the list. Oh well, guess we will just have to go back ;) Once our bellies were full we made a pit stop at Sleek MV where we, naturally, bought matching t-shirts #ThoseGirls – keep scrolling to see which ones we chose.

Our next stop was Edgartown, which is quite possibly one of the cutest places I have seen with my own two eyes. At this point, we linked up with Jill Rollins of Jillian Rollins Photographer and she captured the remainder of our day in such a professional and fun manner. She is based in the Cape area so if you’re on the hunt for a photographer, Jill is your girl! Before our trip, we connected with the darling owner of Slate boutique. After shopping their adorable collection, we headed over to their sister store, Salte, which will give you real life heart eyes. Once we checked shopping off the list it was time to test our biking skills. Wheel Happy Bike Shop set us up with bikes and a wicker basket because, clearly that was a priority. Biking around Edgarstown without a basket full of fresh bloomed flowers has to be a sin somewhere, right? Thought so. I can’t say that either Ash or I will be biking a marathon anytime soon but the good news is, neither of us fell and Jill snapped some cutesy photos so, all was right in the world.

After working up an appetite, we strolled over to Behind The Bookstore where we induldged in lobster rolls and afternoon cocktails because, #vacation. I would recommend this restaurant over and over again! As we made our way back to Oak Bluffs we couldn’t resist ordering scoops from Mad Martha’s. Head over to Ashley’s post to read about our Instagram vs. Reality experience that happened when we walked out of the store.

After a busy day of running around the island soaking up as much as we could in 24 hours, we headed back to Summercamp to unwind and refresh before a casual dinner at 20 By Nine. As the sun set, we made our way back to the hotel and may or may not have been under the covers by 9PM with a facemask on.
